Anja was introduced to yoga by her best friend while travelling around small villages in Cornwall. The warmth and welcome she received while practising yoga with this community was deeply felt and profound. She had not experienced anything like it before, while doing other forms of exercise.

On her return to London she enrolled for a beginners’ course with amazing Leela Miller; senior Ashtanga Teacher and Director of Yoga at Triyoga and since then yoga became her daily practice.

Anja has been practicing with many teachers and different styles of yoga while continuously experiencing the healing and empowering sense within herself. While her body was cleansing, getting stronger and loosening up/becoming more supple, the quality of her life was improving. She was sleeping better, experiencing deeper relaxation and peace, and being in acceptance with life’s natural flow.
For Anja the discipline of getting on her mat, regardless if it is asana practice, meditation, kriya, chanting or pranayama; means aligning and unfolding her life to the divine nature and energy of the universe. It is like plugging in and recharging.

On the mat and beyond she has found her element and knew that she wanted to pass her experience to others. She has been teaching open classes as well as supporting vulnerable adults in their recovery from drug and alcohol addiction with some astounding results.

She is grateful for the guidance of truly incredible teacher Philippa Asher; one of the most senior Ashatanga teachers, certified by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and internationally recognised and respected Vinyasa Flow teacher; outstanding and always inspiring Claire Missingham, whom with she completed her teacher’s training.

Anja’s intention is to share her joy and enthusiasm for yoga while creating a community of beautiful, inspiring and exceptional people.
