With more than 15 years experience Sybille has adapted and combined a number of styles from within Jivanmukti, Hatha and Iyengar yoga to create her own individual style of teaching. Sybille trained at the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Centre, one of the leading schools in India as well as the British Wheel of Yoga. As a degree educated Naturopath, Sybille’s understanding of the interrelation of stressors on the body allow for a holistic and integrated approach throughout her classes.
Sybille’s teaching is clear and thorough with routines carefully crafted to develop strength, flexibility, stamina, concentration and relaxation. Central to her teaching are clear demonstrations and postures are regularly adapted and moulded to benefit a person and their unique story. With mindful practice yoga can be an effective tool for helping individuals to experience their body in the moment and also to develop an open consciousness of how it is feeling. Yoga for Better Posture / Monday 5:45-6:30pm and Wednesday 1:15-2pm
This class will re-educate your body with a routine designed especially to release tensions held in your upper back by using specific tools to break down adhesions – you will learn how to be your own osteopath. The underlying theme is to return movement and fluidity to bodies, which may perhaps spend too long in sitting postures.
Pregnancy Yoga / Monday 6:30-7:15pm
Sybille’s pregnancy yoga class will give you the tools to become birth fit, to pamper yourself a little, and to support sleep and general relaxation. Pregnant mothers will be guided into feeling profoundly in touch with their bodies, and with their babies, building their confidence in their natural ability to give birth.
Yoga All Levels / Monday 7:15-8:30pm
You will learn precision and subtlety in your asana through a practice, which is progressive, safe and orderly. Yoga Props such as blankets, blocks and belts may be used to improve your understanding of poses or to help if you have difficulties. In addition to asana practice, Sybille’s class includes hands-on adjustments, breath awareness, meditation and deep relaxation. The teaching and the postures are adjusted to meet the conditions and needs of each student.
