Dr. Mahesh Madhav Mathpati BAMS, MSc-Public health Dr Mathpati has been practicing Ayurveda for 15 years. He has worked in India for 10 years with various Ayurveda clinics, hospitals and community health programme creating integrated models for healthcare. From the early days of his Ayurveda education, he has been interested in, and involved in research and education in the field of Ayurveda, local health traditions and in other Indian Systems of Medicine. He has been studying with eminent physicians in India. His work has helped to create an in-depth understanding of the fundamental principles and practice of Ayurveda and its application at the community level. He is also trained in Thai Massage and Yoga. Since last 4 years Mahesh is leaving UK and works on role of traditional medicine in creating population self-relience and sustainable health systems. He also works with various Non-Government Organisations (NGO’s) in India and in the UK in the area of health, nutrition, biodiversity, conservation and farming. His diverse interests have steered him towards work with various plant, animal and environmental conservation programmes. Since completing his Masters in Public Health (MPH) in 2015, he has been studying how health systems and policies affect and govern the integration of traditional, complementary and alternative medicine into public health systems. He currently works as a Research Associate at the Trans-Disciplinary University, Bangalore, India and a Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London, UK.
