Sam Farquharson (Maitriana) has an MSc in Physiotherapy and has worked in NHS and private practice for over 20 years. He has worked extensively in areas of elite sports physiotherapy, working with a range of sport and dance professionals including Premiership Football clubs and professional dance companies, and was for many years senior Physiotherapist at a West End dance academy.
Maitriana is experienced and dedicated in treating anyone with musculoskeletal injury or pain, including work related injuries. In his sessions he couples accurate diagnosis/analysis of the causes of pain and dysfunction (including faulty movement / postural patterns), with effective treatment and management strategies combining soft tissue/ manual therapy and customised exercise and pilates programmes to restore , strength, control and flexibility.
The aim is always to reduce and alleviate pain and restore function, bringing people back to full fitness for whatever level is appropriate to meet the challenges of their lives.
Maitriana is also a leading pilates teacher and for many years worked as a Pilates teacher trainer with the internationally renowned APPI (Australian Physiotherapiy & Pilates Institute), training physiotherapists to most effectively help their patients using exercise therapy.
All practitioners at the Light Centre are self-employed. When making bookings, customers are contracting with them directly and not with the Centre. As a result, practitioners manage their own diaries, so please book with them directly.
